How to Apply

APPLICATIONS BEGIN MARCH 1, 2025
 
There are two ways to apply.

  1. You can apply online, using the online submission form below (only open March 1-April 30, 2025), and mail the required letters of recommendation and transcripts to the address listed below.
  2. If you are unable to complete the online application, and need to send a paper version, a PDF file is available for your to complete.

Please note that applications will not be retained nor returned by the committee.

To complete your scholarship application:

  •  Submit two (signed) letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation (signed) should be from individuals who are particularly aware and supportive of your academic and leadership capabilities as well as your accomplishments to date.  NO PICTURES, PLEASE.
  • A personal statement discussing your academic goals and expectations
  •  A list of your school and community activities/involvement (include dates)
  • A list of honors and awards (include dates)
  • A sealed transcript from the high school or college you are currently attending

The packet must be received electronically or postmarked by Wednesday, April 30, 2025.  We suggest that you submit the required materials as a packet. If the packet is incomplete by this deadline you will be eliminated from consideration.


All applications received in our office will be acknowledge via e-mail to the student’s e-mail address provided.

Two alternate winners will be selected in addition to the five winners. These alternates will be awarded the scholarship (in the order they are selected) during the unlikely event that one of the original winners is not able to accept.

Scholarship winners will be notified via phone call, email, or US Mail by June 30, 2025.  All those applicants not selected will be notified via e-mail to the students e-mail address provided. PLEASE NO PHONE CALLS.

Pictures and personal goal statements will be requested of all Washington Counties Scholarship winners to be used in Scholarship publications after the scholarship recipients are selected.
