WACO Releases Detailed Draft Annual Conference Agenda
In June 2020 The WACO Board and Executive Officers made the difficult decision to move the 62nd Annual Conference to a virtual format, in order to secure their attendees’ safely in the age of COVID-19.
In a statement to WACO’s Members Executive Jennifer Wallace stated “While we will miss the opportunity to be with you in-person, what we’ve learned about virtual options has us excited and confident that this year’s conference can and will offer great education and networking opportunities in a more accessible and affordable format for members and their staff.”
Since June WACO Staff has been working hard to bring a virtual conference that presents exceptional educational, legislative and communication opportunities. While attending the conference, members can participate in their own affiliate business meetings, engage in cross affiliate conversation, attend educational webinars, meet with vendors and sponsors, and participate in building the WACO legislative priorities.
WACO is also honored to announce their 2020 Keynote Speaker, Chief-in-Editor at the Spokesman Review, Rob Curley. WACO Education Chair, Stacie Prada stated, “Some of our WACO members have heard Mr. Curley’s talk "The Virtuous Circle: Teaching a Community How to be a Community" previously, and they recommended him highly for this year’s WACO conference. We’re especially excited to hear Mr. Curley’s perspective and advice as we’re all dealing with so much living through a pandemic, adapting logistically, and navigating a highly political and ever-changing environment.”
Now members can look through a detailed agenda posted on WACO’s website to review the engaging content that will be scheduled throughout the WACO Conference. Including, the Opening Ceremony, the President’s Reception, Business Meetings, and the Closing Ceremony.
The WACO Annual Conference will conclude with The Washington Counties College Scholarship Fund auction.
