The Counties Scholarship Fund is now accepting 2021/2022 Applications
Each year the Washington Association of County Officials is honored to award outstanding and hardworking students with scholarships from the Washington Counties Scholarship Fund.
Last year the 2020 Scholarship received 34 very qualified applicants who are children of WACO members and children of WACO’s membership offices’ staff. Those recipients were Hollis Long, Benton County; Maya Davis, Lewis County; and Taylor Gould, Spokane County.
Now applications for the 2021/2022 County Scholarship Fund award are open. The annual award provides up to three $3,000 scholarships to eligible children of county employees and elected officials.
Recipients must be full-time students in an accredited baccalaureate degree, associate degree, or vocational/technical certification program, and a dependent child of an employee or elected official in the following offices: assessor, auditor, clerk, coroner, medical examiner, prosecutor, sheriff and treasurer.
To date the scholarship has awarded over $300,000 to eligible students in the State of Washington, and WACO is excited to continue supporting higher education for high achieving students across Washington.
