The Washington Association of County Officials would like to send its deepest condolences to the family of June Sparks who passed away on September 10, 2017. June was 99 years old.
June served nearly three terms as County Treasurer, serving from January 1972 to June of 1984. She ran on a campaign platform of improving working relations with other elected officials and computerizing the finance and tax collection departments of the office. June was one of the first county treasurers in Washington State to invest public funds. Additionally, From June 1983 to June 1984 June served as the President of the Washington State Association of County Treasurers.
Prior to being County Treasurer, June worked part-time at US National Bank in Portland, Oregon.
