[ARCHIVED] Upcoming Trainings from MRSC You Don't Want to Miss

The Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) recently shared their upcoming training webinars geared towards COVID-19, Updated Case Law and The Public Records Act. Two of the headlining webinars will be COVID-19 Budgeting Strategies, and PRA Deep Dive – Personnel and Employment Records. These webinars can be extremely beneficial for Elected County Officials, as they are designed for local governments in Washington State. 

The COVID-19 Budgeting Strategies will be a three-part webinar series that focuses on meeting the needs of individuals responsible for planning and developing an agency’s annual or biennial budget. MRSC states that “clerks, treasurers, clerk-treasurers, finance directors, and any administrative or finance staff responsible for preparing the annual budget” should attend.  The current presenter list includes Mike Bailey, Finance Consultant, MRSC and Toni Nelson, Finance Consultant, MRSC. 

The COVID-19 Budgeting Strategies series will take place on July 21, August 4, and September 1 and costs $40 per webinar or $120 for the entire series, scholarship opportunities are available. For more information and to register, click here.

PRA Deep Dive – Personnel and Employment Records training webinar will be held on Wednesday, July 29thcosting $35. MRSC listed the educational objectives were “learning how the PRA applies to personnel and employment records, including what, specifically should be kept in a personnel file and what could be exempt”. The current presenters include Morgan Damerow, Assistance Attorney General, Washington State Office of the Attorney General and Sarah Doar, Legal Consultant, MRSC.
