This week WACO staff were on hand at the Spokane Convention Center for the 2023 Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs’ Spring Conference. The massive event had training sessions covering a wide range of topics from administrative & finance, to corrections, to crime specific training like organized retail theft, and much much more.

In addition to training, the Washington State Sheriffs Association held a membership meeting where they announced their work on establishing a new Executive Liaison position to be held by former Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnette on a part-time basis. The role will serve a vital function in helping the Sheriffs establish their voice and serve as a liaison between the Sheriffs and partner organizations such as WACO and WASPC.

WACO staff is excited to begin work with the new Executive Liaison on better connecting the Sheriffs endeavors with their courthouse colleagues, a subject of great conversations during the conference.
